2017 Whitley Awards - Deadline: Oct 31, 2016
Whitley Awards are for successful and dynamic, mid-career conservation professionals who are leading wildlife conservation projects that involve local communities. WFN seek applicants from grassroots conservation NGOs incorporated in biodiversity-rich developing countries, rather than in-country staff from NGOs headquartered in developed countries. Whitley Awards are worth £35,000 in funding to be spent over a period of one year. Applicants do not need to be nominated.
Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund - Deadline: Oct 31, 2016
The Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund makes grants for the conservation of any threatened or poorly known animal, plant, or fungus species worldwide. Anyone directly engaged in species conservation can apply: individuals, communities, and organizations. Grants are up to $25,000 per project.
East-West Center Fellowships for Graduate Students - Deadline: Nov 1 annually
The East-West Center provides graduate students from Asia, the Pacific, and the USA with funding for up to two years for masters and doctoral studies. Participants engage in the educational, residential, and leadership development programs at the East-West Center while pursuing graduate study at the University of Hawai‘i. The university's graduate programs include ecology and conservation; biology and marine biology; tropical plant and soil sciences; ocean policy; and several other disciplines related to environmental sciences.
WWF's EFN Reforestation Grant Program - Deadline: Nov 1 & Feb 1
EFN’s Reforestation Grant Program focuses on supporting communities in regaining ecological integrity and enhancing human wellbeing in deforested and degraded landscapes through forest restoration. EFN is looking for organizations that will use this workshop opportunity to connect corridors, create buffer zones, improve degraded lands, restore watersheds, and expand forest cover while also allowing local stakeholders to connect with nature and become a vested part of a larger conservation program.
Chevening Scholarships for UK study - Deadline: Nov 8, 2016
The Chevening Scholarships provide full or partial funding for full-time courses at postgraduate level, normally a one-year master’s degree, in any subject at any UK university. Chevening Scholars come from 150 countries, excluding the USA and the EU. Applicants complete the application forms for their chosen universities.
Commonwealth Scholarships for Master's and PhD study - Deadline: Nov 15, 2016
The UK Department for International Development (DFID) funds the Commonwealth Scholarships for master’s and PhD studies in the UK for citizens of developing Commonwealth countries. Scholarships are awarded annually across all subjects, with priority for applications that demonstrate strong relevance to development. There is a nominating agency for Commonwealth Scholarships in each Commonwealth country, with contact details provided in the announcement. Inquiries about the scholarships should be directed to this agency.
Schlumberger Foundation Faculty for the Future Grants - Deadline: Nov 18, 2016
Schlumberger Foundation's “Faculty for the Future” supports women in developing and emerging economies to pursue PhD and post-doctoral studies at the international level. Grants are in the physical sciences, engineering, and related fields -- including past grants in subjects such as ecology and environment.
Cambridge Masters in Conservation Leadership - Deadline: Dec 7, 2016
The Cambridge Masters in Conservation Leadership invites applications for entry in 2017. The full-time masters program during one year is aimed at graduates of leadership potential with at least three to five years of experience relevant to biodiversity conservation. Two scholarship programmes help support students from developing countries.
WWF Russell E. Train Fellowships - Deadline: Mar 1, 2017
Russell E. Train Fellowships support individuals pursuing a master’s or doctoral degree in conservation. Each year, WWF supports committed conservationists from target countries to receive financial support for their studies and field research. Applicants can apply to attend any university around the world and must return to their home countries to work in conservation for at least two years after completing their degree.
Environmental Systems Research (Esri) Conservation Grant Program - No deadlines
Esri is an international supplier of Geographic Information System (GIS) software, web GIS, and geodatabase management applications. Esri offers free or discounted GIS software, hardware, data, training, and services to support groups and individuals working for social and environmental benefit. Esri's Conservation Grant Program makes GIS grants to non-profit organizations, programs, and individuals active in public service and nature conservation in any country. There are no grant cycles or deadlines.
